Summer dance information is now available! We are holding some great dance camps and classes for all ages TWO and up! As with many sports, extra practice can only benefit you and make you stronger. Continuing to dance during the “off season” better prepares and advances students for when they return in the fall. Try a new style or continue with your favorite! Tiny Tots (ages 2-3)- Creative movement centered class incorporating basic dance and tumbling skills. Props such as a parachute, trampoline, balloons, balls, scarves, and a tunnel are used to develop coordination, body awareness, and gross motor skills. Tots also begin to learn to follow directions and take turns.
Terrific Tumblers (ages 3-4)- Ballet and tumbling combined class that helps develop and refine balance, coordination, strength, and gross motor and directional skills. Tumblers will learn basic ballet and gymnastic skills using the ballet barre, gymnastics mats, balance beam, trampoline, and parachute. Tumblers also work on memory development, taking turns, and following directions through an obstacle course!
Extreme Dance Camp (ages 4-6)-
The most fun you’ll ever have in the heat! Experience jazz, ballet, and tumbling/acro in a 2 hour camp. Campers learn jazz and ballet technique and work on the gymnastics mats and balance beam! Campers will also learn about creating a performance by learning routines to perform for friends and family on the last day of camp! Dancers will have 30 minutes of ballet, 30 minutes of Jazz, 45 minutes of tumbling and 15 minutes of “craft” time where they will create items to use during the performance.
Classes for ages and abilities 7 and up, beginner to advanced:
Hip Hop (upbeat class combines street dance with funk and jazz. Students will learn the importance of isolations and dynamics to execute pop-and-lock and funk movements.)
Acro (Gymnastics skills include but are not limited to walkovers, limbers, handsprings, chest rolls, cartwheels/round offs, handstands, and more.)
Musical Theater (Musical Theater combines jazz technique with other varieties to create a “Broadway” style of dance, and includes some acting)
Lyrical/Contemporary (style of dance that uses the emotion and mood of the music to elicit movements from the dancers)
Jazz (Jazz is fun and energetic. They include such elements as kicks, leaps, turns, splits, and isolations and combinations)
We have something for everyones personality and experience.
