Policies

TUITION PAYMENTS Tuition can be paid in full in the beginning of the school year or in three installments on September 1, December 1, and March 1. Those who pay tuition in full by the first day of classes will have their registration fee waived. There are no refunds under any circumstances. Payments received 30 days past due are subject to a 5% late charge. There is a $25.00 fee for any check returned.

DISCOUNT POLICY Any student enrolled in 3 or more classes will be entitled to a discount off the trimester tuition. Any student enrolled in 5 or more classes will be entitled to a discount off the trimester tuition. Any family with 2 siblings taking 3 or more classes each will be entitled to a total discount. Any family with 3 siblings taking 3 or more classes each will be entitled to a total discount.

MAKE-UP CLASSES In the event a student misses a class due to illness, she may make the class up in one of comparable level. There will be no refunds or credits for classes missed. Students must notify the instructor prior to attending a make-up class.

CANCELLATIONS If the instructor cancels a class due to illness, a make-up class will be offered. The Dance Connection reserves the right to substitute a teacher for any class without notice.

SNOW CANCELLATIONS Please tune into NBC for cancellation information, visit the website, or contact the studio. Decisions for snow cancellations may not be made until one hour before class meets, but are usually made by early afternoon. If one class is canceled due to weather conditions, students will be given an opportunity to attend another class of comparable level. If more than one class is canceled there will be make-up classes offered during the spring recess or a scheduled Saturday. If the whole class can not attend the make-up class during spring recess, then it will be canceled and students will be given an opportunity to attend a class of comparable level.

VISITORS Parents are encouraged to view their children's class. However, in the best interest of the students, there will be designated parent observation days that will be on the first scheduled class of each month. All other times the studio observation window will be closed to ensure that your children are getting the best out of their instuction without distraction.

RECITAL The Dance Connection holds an annual recital in late May or early June. Costumes must be paid for in full by December. Tickets are sold to all parents and friends who wish to attend. All students, including preschoolers, are required to stay for the full duration of the show. It is not fair for students performing in the second half of the show to dance for half of the audience. Students do have an opportunity to view the show via closed circut television backstage.

"RECOGNITION AWARDS" Awards will be given out at the end of the year during recital time for 3, 5, 8, 10, and 15 consecutive years of participation at The Dance Connection.

LATE PICK-UPS If your child is in the last class offered on a particular day, please be sure to pick them up on time. If you know you will be late, please notify the instructor prior to class. The Dance Connection is not responsible for students after their scheduled class time.

"DANCE CORP" There will be an audition for any student interested in becoming a member of the "Dance Corp." The audition will be in late June or July. Students will be evaluated on technique, overall dance skills for their age and level and their ability to pick up the combination quickly. Students must be enrolled in Ballet as their foundation. In addition to Ballet, they must be enrolled in either Jazz and Lyrical, or Tap and Lyrical, or Jazz, Lyrical, and Tap. Certain rules and regulations will be required if accepted into the competition group. These rules and regulations will be available in September. The minimum age requirement is 5 years old.
