Our Dance Corps
Competition is a wonderful team experience. It is an opportunity for students to study more and gain valuable performance experience while pushing themselves to become better dancers, teammates, and friends. Students are learning the value of being a team player, developing dedication, commitment, and an appreciation for the art of dance. These are all valuable lessons whether or not the child becomes a professional dancer.
Our competition team is selected by our talented and qualified staff to represent The Dance Connection in the best way possible. The minimum age requirement is 4 years old.
There is an audition for any student interested in becoming a member of the Dance Corps, which takes place in May or June. Students are evaluated on technique, overall dance skills for their age and level and their ability to pick up the combination quickly.
Students must be enrolled in Ballet as their foundation. In addition to taking 2 Ballet classes, they must be enrolled in either Jazz and Lyrical, or Tap and Lyrical, or Jazz, Lyrical, and Tap.
