Frequently Asked Questions

What am I charged and how often?

Tuition can be paid in full for the entire year, or in three trimesters.  Account statements will be emailed the week before the first class in September, December, and March. There is a $25 registration fee, and a one time non-refundable costume fee which is billed in December.  Our tuition is very reasonable and is based on a 34 week yearly program.  Any outstanding accounts will be charged a late fee.  There is a $30.00 returned check fee and a processing fee of 3% for online credit card transactions.

Can I watch my child’s class?

Yes, certainly!  Teachers will designate several days throughout the year for parent observation. We will inform parents in to watch the last 10 minutes of designated classes to see their child’s progress and combinations they have been working on.  We want our students to get the most they can out of their time in class, therefore limiting these observation days helps students to stay focused and offers the least amount of distraction in class.

Is there a dress code?

Yes. We require our students to have specific dance attire to allow the instructor to see the body and make corrections. The following page in the packet lists our dress code for each style of dance classes we offer along with places that you can purchase these items.

Why does my child have to wear certain attire?

Just as soccer players are required to wear shin guards as a safety precaution, it is important for students to wear the proper dance attire to class to allow the instructor to correct body alignment and placement to ensure proper technique, otherwise, we may not be able to see a problem that could cause a potential injury.  Having the hair neatly and securely pulled back allows your child to move more easily without the distraction of hair in her eyes.

How long does the dance program run?

Dance classes run for a full year commitment, from September to early June, culminating in an annual recital which is held the first or second weekend of June. We break for Thanksgiving, Holiday Break, Spring Break (April), as well as a few federal holidays. Please see the website for our current studio closings list.

What if my child misses a class?

Not a problem! You may make up the class by attending a different class of the same level until we begin choreographing recital dances. Please call the studio    ahead of time to let the instructor know you are coming. We do encourage our students to make every effort to attend their classes regularly so they do not miss important technique and practice.

Can I add or change a class OR my friend wants to join...

Of course. We want you and your child to be happy with their classes. Call, email, or stop by the studio and we will be happy to help you choose one that is right for you. You may register until January 1st.

My son expressed interest in dancing. What do you offer for boys?

Dance is NOT just for girls! We encourage all boys to try out a dance class- tap,  jazz, hip hop, anything! We have had boys enrolled in classes for the past several years and welcome them into any style class. Dancing helps boys gain STRENGTH and COORDINATION that can help them in other activities.
